The RH-2 Pro is a twin camera in car black box video recorder. It records
video using a forward facing camera pointing at the road ahead and video
from an inward facing camera filming the driver and passengers. A built-in
mic captures audio from inside the car including conversation (this can be
disabled).
As with the rest of the RoadHawk range of drive cameras the RH-2 Pro also records GPS and G-Force information. When playing back
the video using the software on any PC you will see the vehicle overlaid on to Google Maps and a constant display of vehicle speed,
direction and g-force data. This function works all over the world and there are no subcription fees or on-going costs.
The RH-2 Pro has two options for storage; an SD HC memory card inserted in to the camera or a USB pen drive in to the T-Box. The
T-Box can be fitted under the dash or close by to make it easy for the user to change USB pen drives quickly. Or it can be mounted
in the boot of the car for security purposes. If the camera is removed by force from the vehicle the data remains secure.
Video is recorded on a constant loop in 1 minute segments. When the memory is full the RH-2 Pro overwrites the oldest files. If
the RH-2 Pro detects an impact or harsh acceleration/deceleration, or if the emergency remote button is pressed it will create
an "event" that will not be overwritten. Using the software it is easy to navigate to "events". This is a
great way to tag the video for a student to review after the lesson or at home.
The camera part of the system sits at the top of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. The inner facing camera is surrounded
by IR LEDs to invisibly illuminate the inside of the vehicle during night driving. The camera is designed to record passengers in
the rear of a vehicle such as a taxi even at night.
A 3m connecting cable from the camera to the T-box is supplied. The T-Box comes with a video out facility and an infra red remote
controller. When the RH-2 Pro is connected to a screen or monitor it can be used as a video player. Using the remote supplied the
user can make changes to settings in the menu and playback any file on the memory card or USB pen. During playback the user can
choose which camera to view or choose picture in picture modes. The screen can also display live images from either of the cameras
in real time clearly showing the occupants of the vehicle are being filmed.

Powering the RoadHawk RH-2 drive camera is done using the accessory plug (cigarette lighter style plug) supplied with the kit. In
this way the RH-2 Pro can be installed easily by most drivers. It is also possible to wire the system direct to the vehicle to a
live ignition. If a permanent live is provided to the system then a "Parking mode" can be employed and the camera will
continue to operate when the vehicle is not in use for set amounts of time.
